Wedding Gifts

Just a thought on enduring wedding gifts. This is my Aunt Florence and my dad c1913-14. We didn't see our Pennsylvania relatives often. I have cousins I've not seen in years, except on Facebook. (That's you Jerry.)
Aunt Florence gave me a modest gift, a pair of stainless dishes. It is a gift I use almost everyday 50 years later. In fact I found another set at an estate sale to use with them.
Perfect for keeping the contents covered be it beans or apple sauce, soaking French toast in the egg mix

or dredging eggplant or green tomatoes in corn meal for a summer treat.
I think of my Aunt Florence every time I use them.

Estate Sales

I can't help myself.
Technically not from an estate sale, but $5 at an Ardmore antique shop.
 Estate Sale stuff.
This mirror went right up an the mantel and the big one in the laundry room bathroom.
Two mirrors and a doll quilt. $2.50, $17.50, $15.
This one in pretty good shape. $40.
This one rebound. $25.
And it has an issue but lovely quilting could be on pillows.
Nice, new, table cloth. $2.50. Perfect size for one of the porch tables or layered on the couch.
Two mirrors. $7.50, $20.
Platter $25. It will be very patriotic serving fresh tomatoes tonight.
Some cross stitch pieces. I'm sending these to Miss Mustard Seed. She has been playing around with cross stitch recently and loves blue and white.
Table cloth and pillow cases.
And sadly two that got away. I shouldn't have walked the dog before running down to the sale today. These were a great size, with lovely patina and only $150 and $100 with Sunday 50% off. Not that I have room for such pieces. Not meant to be.

 But aren't they great?
