What a view. With the overhead lights off, work lights that light the work.
I can see clearly now!

Out with the Old/In with the New: Part 3
After much angst over gray the paint of the day is Behr's Reflecting Pool.
However, HD mixed my can and left it on the counter. Lucky I checked the color. Kinda bright blue. Refreshing Pool. A difference of four little letters.
I'd still like the cabinets a gray, but there is resistance. It is a subtle gray that shows some blue tones as the light changes. I think it should be darker, but I guess I'll just make the cabinets the dark color.

Out With the Old, In with the New: Part 2
Further progress.
On the right you can see kitchen fan housing, that white box. So ugly.
Here's the hole. Better already. Wall paper being stripped.
Here's the removed cabinet and fan.
Filthy icky grease. But even worse is what was in there with it.
That's a shed snake skin! I wanted to go take another shower!
You can see the line of dirt on the wall paper where the face plate protected it. It was original in the '80s.
And they usedgood super glue. This stuff comes off centimeter by centimeter. One scrape for the top layer of paper, another for the backing.
Strike me with a stick or kick me in the shins if I ever EVER entertain the thought of putting up wall paper.
But the hood looks so much better higher.
Somehow it doesn't seem to protrude into the room as much.
Paint coming soon.

DIY Christmas Gifts
For Christmas T asked for a "hand painted picture of a goat", he's a Capricorn. I have no clue where he found out about the zodiac signs. So... I took inspiration from pve and decided to give some special gifts this year. My efforts don't come near Patricia's lovely watercolors. But here's what I gave.
To T ... I had to go online to find a goat, not sure if he wanted a goat
or the zodiac sign (the attributes fit him to a "T"), so he got both.
To my sister
To my son
To PFS
I think they were all pleased.

Happy New Year
I hope you spent a restful first day of the year smelling viewing the roses (parade),
getting the game on be it hockey in the rain ... here's the TV truck at the Hockey Classic in Pittsburgh (photo J Smith)
watching a bouncing ball (with older players),
or pigging out on pig skin.
Too bad the Lion is cryin'
Happy New Year to all.
