Out With the Old, In with the New: Part 2

Further progress.
On the right you can see kitchen fan housing, that white box.  So ugly.
Here's the hole.  Better already.  Wall paper being stripped.
Here's the removed cabinet and fan.
Filthy icky grease.  But even worse is what was in there with it.
That's a shed snake skin!  I wanted to go take another shower!
You can see the line of dirt on the wall paper where the face plate protected it.  It was original in the '80s.
And they used good super glue.  This stuff comes off centimeter by centimeter. One scrape for the top layer of paper, another for the backing.
Strike me with a stick or kick me in the shins if I ever EVER entertain the thought of putting up wall paper.
But the hood looks so much better higher.
Somehow it doesn't seem to protrude into the room as much.
Paint coming soon.

  1. Looks great. I still love wallpaper - maybe not in a kitchen, though. What color are you going to paint?

  2. Love "out with the old, in with the new"!
    Happy NEW Year!!!

  3. a snake skin?? ohmy!! it looks fabulous! you must love it!! I remember that 80's wallpaper;)!!

  4. I can't believe the snake skin...that is wild! I totally understand your feelings about wallpaper!!! I don't plan to ever use it again, either!

I love hearing from you. Don't be shy!
