These are the Bleeding Hearts in my garden this spring. For Today's Flowers # 101 here they were in full bloom.
Then the foliage dies back. I just cut it back ...
It's OK 'cuz they'll be back next spring.
This variety blooms all summer!

Hi there Pat, these Bleeding Hearts always take me back to my parents garden when I was young. My Mom always loved them, so delicate and so very beautiful. Your photos are lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing with Today's Flowers. Have a great week.

Always a classic! We have some of the all year type. Ours are called the 'King of Hearts'. A lot more expensive but worth it.
ReplyDeleteI've both those plants and I can't believe how long the 2nd one in your photo has been in flower in my garden.

They are such special little gems. Their shape, color and overall feel are just so lovely. Fantastic shots.
ReplyDeleteI love bleeding hearts -- they are a favorite flower here -- but ours bloom so much earlier! And I'm a purist -- the pink ones please!

They are very pretty. I like perennials, always a pleasure when they appear every year. Bleeding Hearts is a popular name. I grow one but it is tropical.
